Dyers' Guild

Värjärikilta (Dyers' Guild) is a Finnish association of people who are interested in natural dyes and dyeing. The members are both professional craft makers and enthusiastic hobbyists who share the same interest towards natural dyes. Everyone is free to join the group.

The association was founded in 2001. It aims to increase the knowledgement about natural dyes, to support the work done in the field of natural dyes, to develope natural dye activities and to cherish the traditions of dyeing.

The Dyers' Guild organizes annually the "Dyer Days" with a seminar day and three workshop / course days. The course themes approach dyeing in several ways, and sometimes there are also workshops of other crafts, f.ex. spinning. The association also publishes twice a year a small magazine (in Finnish) for the members.

If you are interested to take part to events (which are organized mostly in Finnish, but there is always someone to translate when needed), you want to inform The Dyers' Guild about some dye related event in Finland or anywhere in the world, or you have a suggestion for joint project, please contact info(at)varjarikilta.fi
